Art Show at ArtsTech

Just wanted to let you know that the Artstech gallery will be hosting an art show with a few of our Art Flea artists and friends this Friday, Sept. 24th from 5:30-9pm. Join us for a viewing of some new works in painting, sculpture, drawing, collage and animation/video. We look forward to seeing you there!

It's official. Art Flea will return for 4 Saturdays this year. Sept. 18th, Oct. 16, Nov. 20 and Dec. 18 from 10am-3pm.

Boo! Did I scare you, Art Flea Shoppers? I hope I didn't scare you away from the fantastic goodies you'll find at the Flea this Saturday. We'll have some really great booths so come down from 10-5 and scare up some finds for yourself.

There are 12 weeks left 'til Christmas day. Time flies quickly, as we all know, so hurry to Art Flea this Saturday and get on some holiday shopping!

Attention Artists! If you volunteer to hand out Art Flea postcards and help hang up some signs during the art receptions in the Crossroads Art District on First Friday Sept. 4 you'll get a free vending booth that Saturday, Sept. 5! Hello All-
Just a heads up. This Saturday we will have the Art Flea on the air conditioned side of the building (by the bathrooms upstairs). We will continue to use this side as often as it is available during these hot days (sometimes the side is used for kids programming). Hope to see you soon!

After last week's impromptu vacation Art Flea will be back this Saturday! As said below we'll be back inside, which is nice because the forecast says it'll be hot. So come and see all the great deals!

Check out this week's featured artist - Kahra Graebner. She creates hand knitted soft sculptures of the funny persuasion (slugs, kittens, crabs, aliens etc.) Look for her on May 2nd at the Art Flea located on 16th and Holmes.

We are gearing up the ArtsTech center to welcome back the Art Flea Market. We have gotten a few more tables, many new vendors, and a lot of curious visitors to our website. New this year we have added food vendors and new vendors bringing more repurposed vintage items, one of a kind clothing, glass art, cards and calendars.

Vendors, still plenty of time to sign up for the first day of the Art Flea. You can sign up for a booth at any time throughout the Flea by sending me an application located on the Right Side of this page under "Info for Artists."

An Itch You Can Afford to Scratch...

The Art Flea Market will return May 2, 2009. Running EVERY Saturday from 10am - 5pm, the Art Flea will feature artist vendors from the KC Metro Area.

Why do we believe in the Art Flea?
We are artists. We recognize that the state of economy is hurting creative entrepreneurs. We know that by working smarter, pooling our resources and efforts; collectively we can help to sustain local creative businesses. Also, the general public needs inexpensive access to the arts and cultural events. The Art Flea provides just that; a cheap venue, free parking, small business marketing and entertainment draw, and above all families can rub elbows with some of Kansas City's finest artisans.

We are now looking for commitments from vendors (at $25 per Saturday) selling arts, crafts, good quality vintage goods, music, and a select number of food vendors selling products priced from $1 - $50. Fill out the application on the right under "Info for Artists" and email it to info@artfleakc.com.

This Saturday is the Last Shopping Day Left!

Please join us for the last day of the Original Art Flea for 2008. Join us Saturday Dec. 20 from 9am-4pm. Find jewelry, ceramics, soaps, handmade books and cards, accessories, fine art and other great gift ideas, many for under $10.

Can't make it this Saturday? Put your name and email in our contact form on the top right side of this blog, and we will keep you posted on the Art Flea's future. We plan to open the Art Flea again in April 2009.

We are looking for businesses that would like to host employee/client events in our 8,500 sq foot gallery for next season. Clients will love perusing fine art paintings while sipping on drinks and nibbling appetizers in the VIP section of the gallery and listening to live music while strolling through over 30 local artists booths in the Art Flea.
