It's official. Art Flea will return for 4 Saturdays this year. Sept. 18th, Oct. 16, Nov. 20 and Dec. 18 from 10am-3pm.

After last week's impromptu vacation Art Flea will be back this Saturday! As said below we'll be back inside, which is nice because the forecast says it'll be hot. So come and see all the great deals!

We'll be outside this Saturday! Be sure to join us for some terrific grilled food from Chef Sue, and take a special look at the yummy cheesecakes available from Moe's Cheesecake. There will be tons of cool stuff for under $10, so come down and scratch the itch!

This Week's Feature Artists - Delara Marchbank and Sara Lemberger

Two new artists to the Art Flea scene, Delara and Sara make a variety of products. They create paper arts (stationary, cards and journals), beaded jewelry and crocheted hats and bags. Check them out in person at the Art Flea May 2 and 9th.

Check out this week's featured artist - Kahra Graebner. She creates hand knitted soft sculptures of the funny persuasion (slugs, kittens, crabs, aliens etc.) Look for her on May 2nd at the Art Flea located on 16th and Holmes.

We are gearing up the ArtsTech center to welcome back the Art Flea Market. We have gotten a few more tables, many new vendors, and a lot of curious visitors to our website. New this year we have added food vendors and new vendors bringing more repurposed vintage items, one of a kind clothing, glass art, cards and calendars.

Vendors, still plenty of time to sign up for the first day of the Art Flea. You can sign up for a booth at any time throughout the Flea by sending me an application located on the Right Side of this page under "Info for Artists."

Thank you for your support! We had an amazing turnout at our last day of the Art Flea. With approximately 700 customers on Saturday, ArtsTech and Storytellers Inc. would like to thank Kansas City Star reporter, Edward Eveld, for his wonderful article in last Thursday's Preview section. We now have a huge following of happy customers and 45 artist vendors signed up to support the Art Flea's return. In the Spring of 2009, Original Art Flea Market plans to host 40-50 vendors each Flea weekend.

ArtsTech and Storytellers Inc. are pursuing public and private funding to help offset the costs of marketing and payroll with the plan that the Art Flea will return in Mid April.

We are looking for Corporate Sponsorship in exchange for VIP entrance and party area during the Original Art Flea regular hours or a private party with an Art Flea Sampling on Friday. We will post more details here soon. In the mean time, please contact us at info@originalartfleakc.com

We are also looking for media sponsors and pro bono media consultants.

This Saturday is the Last Shopping Day Left!

Please join us for the last day of the Original Art Flea for 2008. Join us Saturday Dec. 20 from 9am-4pm. Find jewelry, ceramics, soaps, handmade books and cards, accessories, fine art and other great gift ideas, many for under $10.

Can't make it this Saturday? Put your name and email in our contact form on the top right side of this blog, and we will keep you posted on the Art Flea's future. We plan to open the Art Flea again in April 2009.

We are looking for businesses that would like to host employee/client events in our 8,500 sq foot gallery for next season. Clients will love perusing fine art paintings while sipping on drinks and nibbling appetizers in the VIP section of the gallery and listening to live music while strolling through over 30 local artists booths in the Art Flea.
